WHAT A CHIROPRACTOR CAN TREAT

When discussing what conditions chiropractic treats, it must be emphasized that doctors of chiropractic most often treat subluxation, not specific conditions.  Subluxations are misalignments and/ or fixations of vertebrae producing nerve pressure, irritation and interference to the nervous system and ultimately can affect any part of the body.

 A subluxation in the spine can cause many varied ailments and conditions. In order to relieve a specific condition, the doctor of chiropractic must first remove the subluxation responsible for the problem.  The doctor of chiropractic accomplishes this by delivering a specific spinal adjustment to realign the vertebrae and restore normal function to the area.  With the use of the adjustment, your doctor of chiropractic can relieve a variety of illnesses.

 Most chiropractic patients are seeking relief for musculoskeletal pain.  Some have headaches and migraines, and the remaining patients have a wide variety of disorders cause fully or in part by signal subluxations.  It must be understood that spinal subluxations are perfectly capable of stimulating, accentuating or making a major contribution to organic diseases. There can be no doubt that the state of the spinal column does have a bearing on the functional states of the internal organs.
